The purpose of the group is to start a coalition of people interested in seeing good science is taught in Kentucky Schools, and that creationism, intelligent design creationism, and other pseudoscientific ideas are not included in science classrooms. This is in part in response to the almost yearly attempts to pass legislation promoting intelligent design creationism, global warming denialism, and several other topics in science classrooms. Many of you are familiar with recent attempts by legislators to get ACT tests to drop evolution from test questions. This group is non-partisan and will attempt to form a coalition of scientists, educators, and religious leaders to see that science education is not diluted by non science.
